Today's discussion was very interesting. Many topics have been brought up. From many topics, the most interesting one was about the life in the war. We discussed a lot about Paul's horrible life in the trenches. He sees people die out everyday, and feels very painful about being a soldier. The most important part of the discussion was when Paul killed a man who dashed into his dug out. We discussed whether he should feel guilty about it or not. We came to conclusion that Paul shouldn't. During the war, though it is not right, killing happens and it is no one's fault but the leaders. The discussion went on and we felt bad for the soldiers during the war.

World Literature Circles - Meeting #4
    Pages / Chapters Due:10-12
“All Quiet on the Western Front” has a lot of connections with other books. However, it has a important connection with the book “Animal Farm”. In All Quiet on the Western Front, the main character Paul suffers a lot of pain during war. He even loses his dream by losing all of his friends. Like Paul, in Animal Farm, many animals except the dogs and the pigs suffer during constructing windmill. They were brainwashed by the pigs and lose their hope.
